It’s a beautiful, colorful and exciting space just minutes from the city center where you’ll find lively play areas, modernista architecture and winding paths decorated with stunning designs. Of course, this stunning park was designed by none other than Gaudi himself. Head to the top to enjoy an incredible panoramic view, and don’t forget to bring the picnic! This is a quintessential plan for Barcelona for families!

Want something a little more challenging? Head to the labyrinth at Parc del Laberint d’Horta to see if you’re brave enough to tackle the beautiful but mighty maze. There’s a playground in the park area next door, along with a small snack bar (with wine for the adults of course!). Bring a blanket and relax in the evening sun while kids enjoy the climbing frames and slides.

Curious Minds
Cosmo Caixa is without doubt one of our favorite ways to spend a day—even without children! It’s a seriously impressive five-story building crammed full of activities and exhibitions to captivate the imaginations of even the most restless! There’s also a huge selection of activities and exhibits held throughout the day. Toca Toca is an activity where the children can actually touch exotic animals and learn all about their habitats. Another one not to miss is the 3-D movies that allow older children and adults to learn all about the solar system in an incredible auditorium. Booking is essential.
Address: Calle de Isaac Newton 26, 08017
Of course there are plenty of other museums well worth a look! Whether it’s history, chocolate or the vast amount of art focused ones, you’ve got options! Did we forget to mention the Giant’s Museum? This is definitely one not to miss for the little ones! Aside from museums, Barcelona has so many other places to visit with children, why not take a look at these great activities to give you some inspiration.
Water Babies
If you didn’t know already, we should probably warn you—Barcelona can get very hot, especially during summer months! And what better way to cool down then taking a splash on one of the many beaches. Take a train from Plaza Catalunya and head out beyond the tourist-filled Barceloneta for truly great beaches. During the summer months many of these even screen outdoor cinema nights. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer’s evening, and of course one of the very best things to do in Barcelona for families.
Badalona beach is about 25 minutes away, and boasts miles and miles of soft sand and clear water. The best part? It’s lined with a selection of great beach bars and restaurants. Stay late into the evening, bring a deck of cards, and enjoy some evening drinks and family bonding on the waterfront. (Kumbaya singing optional!)
Adrenaline Adventures
Has this not been exciting enough for you? Want to get your adrenaline levels pumping? Port Aventura Park is the way to go! Although it’s about an hour drive away, it’s worth every minute of the journey. It boasts everything from nail-biting rides to dolphin shows and even the latest addition of a Ferrari theme park for Dad! There’s something for all ages and daredevil ratings here!
If the thought of a long car journey with the kids leaves you in a cold sweat, don’t worry! Why not spend an evening on the highest mountain in Barcelona and enjoy the thrills in one of Europe’s oldest theme parks? Tibidabo is a stunning setting for the perfect night of fun and entertainment. At over 500 meters above sea level, hop on the magical carousel and sparkling ferris wheel to check out some of the city’s incredible panoramic views that will stay with your family long after your trip is over.

Last Resort (Bribery)
Okay, we’re not saying we agree with bribery, but we are saying we understand! Sometimes the only answer, is ice cream! And where is the best place to get it? Eyescream and Friends of course! Kids and adults love this little place down by the old fisherman’s neighborhood of Barceloneta. You’ll also find the aquarium nearby, which is another super place for a daytime visit. Either way, an ice cream is sure to win children of any age over!
