But if you find yourself in Barcelona on a Sunday, fear not! We love eating out every day of the week, including Sundays, so we have compiled a list of our favorite places to visit on the most relaxing day of the week. Discover a handful of wonderful restaurants with our suggestions of where to eat in Barcelona on Sundays!
Salamanca
Like many restaurants specializing in seafood, paella and other rice dishes, Salamanca opens on Sundays for lunch. As far as things to do in Barcelona on Sundays goes, it doesn’t get much better than a huge paella lunch! Alternatively, try their delicious fideua, a noodle version of paella, traditionally served with a healthy dollop of all i oli on the side! Definitely, a restaurant to visit in Barcelona on Sundays.
Address: Carrer de l’ Almirall Cervera, 34
Local’s Tip: Want to know how to spot an authentic paella? Get some great tips in the video below with our lovely co-founders Lauren Alouise and James Blick.
Tapeo
Tapeo, a wonderful and unique restaurant on the popular Montcada street, is the place to go for Sunday evening dinner and drinks. Nestled in the heart of the Born neighborhood, delight yourself with the many delicious dishes to choose from. Creative tapas with a twist and an impressive wine menu are the highlights! Try the octopus or their fantastic patatas bravas. You won’t be disappointed!
Address: Carrer de Montcada, 29
Taverna El Glop
One of the best things to do in Barcelona on Sundays is hanging with the locals for la hora del vermut. The vermouth hour, or basically aperitif hour, can come anytime before lunch or dinner, and Taverna El Glop is a great place to partake! But if it’s lunch or dinner you’re seeking, worry not—this wonderful little restaurant in gorgeous Gracia does it all! Not only that, but their selection of traditional Catalan dishes is nothing short of mouthwatering!
Address: Carrer de Sant Lluís, 24

Federal Café
In the mood for brunch? Have one of Barcelona’s best brunches at Federal Café, with two gorgeously airy locations—one in the Gothic Quarter, and the other in Sant Antoni. From hearty egg dishes to perfectly crafted sandwiches, it’s no wonder this place is a local favorite for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Address: Calle Parlament, 29
Bar Celta Pulperia
We just love pulpo (octopus!), which is why this local neighborhood gem in the Born area is one of our favorite places to stop any day of the week. Although their specialty is their pulpo, cooked more ways than you can imagine, they don’t stop there. Grab a seat at the bar and choose from the many delicious seafood tapas lining the countertops. We love their giant-sized tortilla and crunchy pa amb tomaquet, or tomato bread!
Address: Carrer de le Princesa, 50
Can Culleretes
If you’re visiting Barcelona on a Sunday, this is one place you can’t miss! This emblematic restaurant located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter dates back to 1766! The walls are lined with rows of famous people who have dined here throughout the years. Its lavish modernist decor, old-world charm and indulgent dishes will leave you wanting to come back again the next day.
Address: Carrer d’en Quintana, 5
Local’s Tip: Treat yourself, and go for the 1786 special set menu. You will not be disappointed!
Betlem
A lovely, informal, corner tapas bar awaits you on Sundays in Barcelona! Betlem is by far one of our favorite tapas bars in Barcelona, and it’s no wonder why! Market-fresh ingredients, delicious and hearty tapas, and a buzzing scene around the clock!
