Coffee culture in Spain is an interesting concept. It is such a huge part of daily life, yet there is little to be said about its quality. Sure, a\u00a0caf\u00e9 con leche<\/em>\u00a0can really hit the spot, but it would be a sad loss if the regular Spanish cup of joe<\/a> were put up to compete with, say, its Italian counterpart.<\/p>\n

A new wave of coffee culture has come over Barcelona, and coffee snobs couldn’t be more thrilled.\u00a0So for something a little more special than the usual, check out these five spots for coffee connoisseurs in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

Satan’s Coffee Corner<\/h2>\n

The people at Satan’s Coffee Corner<\/a>, a\u00a0lovely little cafe in the Gothic,\u00a0were some of the first in\u00a0Barcelona’s recent coffee movement.\u00a0Literally\u00a0starting off in a tiny corner of a bike shop, they are\u00a0finally proud to have their own spot, sans wifi<\/em> and all. This is one of the best places to get coffee in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

N\u00f8mad Coffee Productions<\/h2>\n

The only problem with N\u00f8mad<\/a> being on one of the most charming streets in all of Barcelona is that it doesn’t open on weekends. The street, or passage, only opens mid-week. No worries, get there during the week to enjoy its serenity over a perfectly concocted cup of coffee.<\/p>\n

On a very pleasant and sunny corner of Sant Antoni’s<\/a> Parlament Street, find the incredibly successful Federal. A three-story airy cafe<\/a> that not only takes pride in great coffee but also boasts some fantastic eats. Did someone say brunch<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Skye Coffee<\/h2>\n

From a sleek food truck to an airy warehouse, Skye Coffee<\/a> is the perfect spot to soak up the ever-so-trendy Barcelona foodie scene. These people are at every food event the city has to offer, and they host some of their own as well.<\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9s el Magnifico<\/h2>\n

And here we save the best for last. Caf\u00e9s el Magnifico<\/a>, a classic and the true pioneer of good coffee in Barcelona, is a shop that takes their art very, very seriously. Here you can find some of the best beans in the world, as well as a small area to have a very well-prepared cappuccino. Hidden in the heart of El Born, grab a coffee to go and wander<\/a>!<\/p>\n
